Allhamdullillah, our Principal Moulana Hassan Murchie
was invited by the Islamic Fiqh Academy of India to deliver a paper
as an expert on the transcription of the Holy Qur’an into
Arabic Braille that was held in Oichra, Kerala, India between the
1st and 3rd of March 2015.
Currently, Madrassa An-Noor prints the Holy Qur’an in Braille
from our own softcopy at our in-house press. We also outsource some
printing overseas. The Braille Qur’an is printed in six volumes,
hand stitched with a blue cover, weighs eight kilograms and is packed
in a bag for easy handling. The price (gift) for this full Qur’an
set is R500.00 excluding postage.

Hassan AK Murchie visited the Za’tari refugee camp in Jordan,
this May 2014. This is one of the biggest refugee camps in the world
and it is situated near the Jordan/Syrian Border where hundreds
of refugees arrive everyday to escape the war in Syria.
It is almost three years now, since we have moved
to our new premises in Cedara. The journey to expand took a bit
long as we had to remove the squatters from our land, obtain an
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) clearance and submit our building
