Madrassa An-Noor for the Blind recently hosted its first International Braille Quran Webinar via Zoom. The event was held on the 27th and 28th February 2021.
We hosted the Webinar so that we could teach visually impaired individuals sensory skills, which are vital for them to learn Braille. The Webinar also created a virtual platform where participants were free to interact.
The conference was open to our previous students, affiliates as well as the international blind community. Participants from many countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Somalia, Albania, Uzbekistan, United Kingdom as well as India, Pakistan and Bangladesh joined the virtual conference.
Each session started with a Qiraat recitation by blind students from different countries.
Sighted and blind teachers then shared their wealth of experiences and advices.
The Webinar included an audio-visual presentation of all the branches of Madrassa An-Noor for the Blind.
Moulana Hassan Murchie, our principal and founder, discussed important issues pertaining to education and empowerment. He also explored unique Shariah allowances made for Blind persons.
Blind persons attending the Webinar came upon some immediate solutions to issues they faced, and felt encouraged to bring the light of Deen to the rest of the world.
Participants expressed their gratitude to Madrassa An-Noor for the blind for hosting this type of an event and requested similar conferences and interactions in the future.
The Virtual conference ended with parting advices and Dua by Moulana.
